Hugh Garvey Memorial Award for Intellectual Property Law 2020

Congratulations to NUIG students Rebecca Anderson and Mary O'Rourke, worthy winners of the Hugh Garvey Memorial Award for Intellectual Property Law 2020.

Our friend and former Managing Partner, Hugh Garvey sadly passed away in 2016 following a battle with cancer. Hugh was a great mentor and inspiration to us all.

The ‘Hugh Garvey Memorial Award for Intellectual Property Law’ is a fitting tribute to him as a former NUI Galway student and a passionate legal professional.

Ordinarily, the annual LK Shields Hugh Garvey Memorial Award for Intellectual Property Law is announced at the prize-giving ceremony at the National University of Ireland, Galway.  However, due to government restrictions and in the interest of public health and safety prize giving was cancelled this year.

We wish both winners every success in their academic endeavours and future legal careers.
